Can you use olive oil in a store-bought oil lamp?

I've seen them also referred to as ';kerosene lamps';. But when you buy one in a store, with a dry wick, shouldn't any other type of oil (such as olive or vegetable oil) work as well? Can you use olive oil in a store-bought oil lamp?
no

Olive oil is too thick and will burn but make lots of smoke. The oil lamp burns patrolium products. but you can get a good lamp oil scented or not at any good hardware dollar store. Can you use olive oil in a store-bought oil lamp?
Olive oil isn't going to work unless your going to cook something. Try going to a hardware store.
