I have started gymnastics, rings and parrarell bars I hurt my left elbow in training the other day. Should I start taking Cod Liver Oil capsules and if so-which ones?Cod Liver Oil helps joints? Should I buy some?
You should get the injury checked out to begin with. I worked for many years for Holland %26amp; Barrett there is a wide spectrum of products you can take for joint care including cod liver oil, evening primrose oil and glucosamine. If the injury has damaged any muscle tissue glucosamine is brilliant as it has restorative properties but for general joint care i would go for cod liver oil or evening primrose oil the branding makes no difference to the product with this types of supplements just look for 1000mg on the labeling as you need between 1000-1500mg daily, hope this helps.Cod Liver Oil helps joints? Honestly, from experience in taking most supplements known to man, LOL - I would say that glucosimine is one of the best thing for joints. I had a sports injury - torn ligaments and meniscus (sp?) and when I started taking glucosimine, not only did it increase healing time, it decreased the pain - one year later, its like the injury never happened. Cod liver oil is good but honestly I think you will get more benefit taking a multi - Omega 3 - includes many fish oils - krill is one of the best actually.
There are different strengths available. Ask at a health shop for the best possible advice. Explain that you do gymnastics.
it is good, either take that or just eat more fish with the essential omega oils in them.
