We have oil in ANWR yet we continue to buy foreign oil which makes for a record $4.00 a gallon gas... why???

http://www.anwr.org/topten.htm

I'm not for killing all the animals in alaska but they only want to use 8% of the park to drill. We are worried about protecting the polar bears and we are going broke driving our cars. Where are our priorities ??? We have oil but instead we pay terrorist oriented countries??? Tree huggers make me sick.We have oil in ANWR yet we continue to buy foreign oil which makes for a record $4.00 a gallon gas... why???
As usual, Democrats/commies are to blame. And you want a black guy as prez? Watch the welfare rise and jobs go overseas. We have oil in ANWR yet we continue to buy foreign oil which makes for a record $4.00 a gallon gas... why???
An oil company has already tried to drill on private land in the area of the Alaskan Wildlife Refuge.

It wasn't economically feasible, so they only drilled for one season.

The oil in the Refuge would only supply America 3 months worth at our present rate of consumption.

The real money in drilling the Alaskan Wildlife Refuge is in the pipeline contract that Halliburton or Bechtel hopes to score at the expense of the American taxpayer.

There are greater reserves off the coasts of Florida and California, but the Republican governors of those states won't allow off shore drilling in their waters.

If you want to really lower oil prices rather than just repeat populist rhetoric, you should work to end Bush's war.

Bush's war has nearly tripled the price at the pump by disrupting the supply of oil coming from Iraq.
We've no need to do anything in ANWR. N. Dakota and SE MT is where we should drill. The BAKKEN Oil Formation has a reserve larger than Saudi Arabia's.

we also have oil off the coast of Florida, which the Chinese(with Cuba's permission), intend to steal from us, by the process of slant drilling
Good question, why not ask the Dems who won't even let us expand oil exploration in Utah, Wyoming, and Colorado?
You yourself have been drilling in a terrorist country since oil became utilized you American self-righteous hypocrite! (You should know what I mean: The real threat to world peace and the real terrorist if you look at how many wars the US has started since the cold war/Survey of Europeans saying they declare the US the #1 threat to world peace)

I don't feel like talking to you about my POV on the topic, but I guess its time someone told people like you another side of the story to clear up your mind.

It seems lately US media has been spreading supply fuel supply propaganda. (read some CNN articles lately) Well, I'm giving you some facts to digest.

1. The US only owns 2% of the world's oil and consumes 25% of all oil produced. According to a calculation made, if the US went self-sufficient on crude, its reserves would be depleted within 3 years. The US has to import to keep up with its astronomical consumption.

2. ANWR is only a puny drop in a bucket of the world's oil. Its not going to make a huge difference in the supply.

3. The commodity price hike that started 8 years ago was obviously caused by a weak US economy. The more worthless something is, the more of it you'll need to hold the same value to buy a certain commodity. The US dollar has fallen 33% against the Canadian dollar in that period of time. (1-1.5%26gt;around 1-1) How pathetic is that? An economy 1/10 of the US economy's size holding its value has that kind of power against an economy that's rapidly detoriating. Now look at the oil prices in NYME over the last 8 years: $20-28/barrel%26gt;$130/barrel. 364%-550% gain. Recently, the chaos has peaked maximum when the real estate bubble created by the Federal reserve a few years ago popped thus further weakening the US economy.

4. There is no such thing as a short supply of crude nowadays! Even in the biased news nowadays you hear that OPEC hasn't called for production drop (mantaining current production levels). Though demand has been going up, its not like the world's developed countries had their populations quadrupled or developing countries' consumption doubling.
